Fall is finally here!

Fall weather has finally reached the DC area. During the week before Halloween, North Dakota had 4-8 inches of snow and DC had mid 70s shorts weather. Haritha and I celebrated by lighting the first fire in my new apartment fireplace. It was fantastic. A fireplace in the close quarters of a two-bedroom apartment with 8 foot ceilings is much warmer than one in a townhouse with a vaulted two-story ceiling. Tonight we are celebrating Diwali (Festival of Lights) by lighting a candle in each window and burning incense. With all the candles burning, it will soon be as hot in the apartment as if we had the fire burning again.
